In 2014, the Kaduna-born singer was signed into Alyhills Records owned by Shawn Idoko, good friend of the Mavin boss – Don Jazzy.
He has since released singles like ‘Arewa’ which he composed while in the competition, ‘J’amapelle Tolu’, and ‘Silent Night’. He has also worked with ace producer Don Jazzy and Baby Fresh and has featured Tiwa Savage.
In 2015, he released another hit single titled ‘Ifemi’ in which he featured Don Jazzy. The song was produced by Baby Fresh of Mavin records.
The ‘Arewa’ crooner seems not to be stopping anytime soon; he is all out to be the next Nigerian king of R&B.
Ugovinna could be referred to as the proverbial ‘cat with nine lives’ after he survived weeks of probation on the show before making it to the finals in the 7th season of Project Fame.
He is currently not signed to any record label, but known to be a skilled producer, releasing self-produced songs that are enjoying airplay.
From ‘Rain On Me’ to ‘Christmas is Coming’ and the latest single - ‘Angeli’, Ugovinna has proven himself as an artist that means business. ‘Rain on Me’, composed while in the Academy was produced by ace producer, Cobhams Asuquo. It was was nominated in the ‘Best alternative song’ category at the 2015 Headies awards.
Ugovinna has worked with his former Academy mate- Debbie and Nigerian act- Rotex.
